Andrea completed her Bachelor of Dental Science degree at the University of Western Australia in 1991, where she worked in Private Dental Practice as a General dentist. During her time as a General Dentist, she completed examinations to become a Fellow in the Royal Australasian Society of Dental Surgeon in 1994, as well as running the 1st year university program for Undergraduate Dental Students. She has published a number of papers for the Australian Dental Journal.
Andrea returned to university to then achieve a Master’s Degree in Orthodontics in 2005, as well as the Postgraduate Clinical Award for Excellence in Clinical Presentation.
Whilst in Perth, Andrea continued working in private practice. She was also appointed as a Clinical Demonstrator for both the Undergraduate Dental Program and the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Western Australia.
Andrea has performed the voluntary role of Secretary/Treasurer to Australian Dental Association “Group R” for a number of years. Andrea says this role has assisted in establishing strong and collaborative connections with dentists in the Mornington Peninsula Region, especially when the family first moved to the peninsula from Western Australia. She has enjoyed participating in charitable and community activities, such as Relay for Life and Mornington Flyers swim team.
She firmly believes in keeping up with the advances of orthodontics by attending professional meetings and further training, both in Australia and overseas. Andrea has embraced “SureSmile” technology and has been thrilled with the process and final results delivered to patients. She also believes the current philosophies in orthodontic treatment planning incorporate not only the dentition, but also changes to facial form and outline in the adolescent and adult. Andrea is passionate about orthodontics and finds it rewarding creating beautiful and confident smiles.
Outside work Andrea’s interests include reading, everything art deco, fine dining and baking. She cherishes the quality time spent raising her young son. Andrea lives in the Mornington Peninsula area with her husband, Justin and son, Kingston.
