Meet Jess from Front Desk.

Our receptionist Jess also runs her own little local business and has written a little piece on how she got started.

I’ve always been a bit crafty and creative, but I never thought that it would become anything more than just a hobby.

Starting JARR Designs was just something that we thought would be a bit of fun after attending a few of our local markets and being inspired to try something ourselves. We had grand plans to make jewellery, homewares, kids clothing and even possibly open up our own shop somewhere on the Peninsula. We went out shopping for supplies and spent hours just looking at anything and everything for ideas of what we were going to create and filled a trolley with hundreds of dollars worth of bits and bobs.  We came home and made up samples of all the ideas that we had had twirling around in our brains for days and then after all of that we decided to just focus on the one idea and that idea would be jewellery. After more shopping and more trial and error we came up with a bunch of designs we liked and booked ourselves into our very first market and from there our little business has grown. We are constantly updating and adding to our range of jewellery & accessories for both women and kids and soon we are hoping to expand outside of jewellery, so watch this space!

Two years later we have our own little following on Instagram and Facebook, an online shop, a number of local and interstate wholesalers.  We are also regular stallholders at the Mornington Racecourse Market and the Emu Plains Market in Balnarring, plus various other local markets throughout the year.
